Life is too short to be normal and boring. I believe in seeking new experiences and being innovative. I build new businesses, design new products, and am on a quest to change the world.
My name is Kevin Victor Zhou, and I was born and raised in Chicago. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and my Master’s Degree in Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). My first full-time jobs were with contractors for the US Air Force and NASA, where I designed creative solutions to produce exceptional results (over $7 million in increased profits). In addition to my core responsibilities, I took on other projects such as computer programming and business strategy.
I believe in the importance of lifelong learning and am always seeking out new challenges. After five years in the aerospace industry, I returned to Chicago and completed the Startup Institute’s Sales and Account Management training program. My goal was to position myself for business roles directly connected with revenue growth. I love building relationships and working with others to achieve shared goals.
My hobbies include performing improv and stand-up comedy, cooking, and completing my bucket list. Completed items include skydiving, bungee jumping, riding on NASA’s zero-gravity simulation aircraft (the “Vomit Comet”), and eating a scorpion. Remaining items include whitewater rafting, visiting the South Pole, and watching C-SPAN 3 without falling asleep.
